DSBF-D16/SAS is the most recent high-end serverboard, supporting Quad-Core/Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor 5300/5100 Sequence and Intel 5000P Chipset to improve performance and reliability. With 16 DIMM slots, the DSBF-D16/SAS is able to provide ultimate memory expandability in EATX form factor. The innovative placement design with two divided zones for 16 Fully-buffered DIMMs offers the best thermal solution. Meanwhile, with dual ASUS Exclusive Mem-Cool kits, it helps maximize the memory performance and avoid shortening lifespan of FB-DIMM module caused by over-temperature. Based on the strict thermal test result, with MemCool solution, the working temperature of FB-DIMM can lower down up to 32%. The DSBF-D16/SAS, built in Quad-LAN with a "teaming" function that integrates four high-speed Gigabit LAN ports into a single one, provides 200% faster transfer rate than dual-LAN platform. Even if an error occurs to one port, the networking connection will not be affected in any way. Additionally, the four ports can also be used in individual sub-nets to enhance network security and communication efficiency. In terms of storage capacity and data reliability, the DSBF-D16/SAS has 8-port SAS controller to support RAID 0, 1, 1E; and there is a dedicated PCI-X slot at the border of the serverboard to support ZCR (Zero-Channel RAID) card, that provides the most cost-effective hardware RAID 5 upgrade solution. There is no single PCI-E expansion slot need to be sacrificed for support SAS RAID.
